Tim Bedley, veteran elementary school teacher, has taken common tunes and changed the lyrics to help kids remember what they've been taught in school. Kid-tested and way-too-fun, this CD will brighten your classroom or home, and your kids will learn elementary school academic standards in the process.

Singin' the Standards is a CD of songs for elementary school students. Each song acts as a mnemonic device allowing children to instantly recall information learned in school. 21 songs address topics such as angle names, good writer habits, skip counting, prefix meanings, measurement and conversion, and much more.

Singin' the Standards is a CD recording that is STANDARDS BASED. Each and every song addresses different basic standards which apply to several grade levels (primarily grades 2 through 5.)

Singin’ the Standards contains very simple songs written to familiar, catchy tunes. Students master these songs after only a few listens. Kids will sing them over and over again in their heads and aloud.

Singin’ the Standards is not like other children’s CDs. These songs don’t have “fluff” lyrics. Each song cuts straight to the objective so kids can mentally access information as they complete assignments. Students don’t need to wade through line after line of needless song lyrics.

Singin’ the Standards is classroom tested. In fact, these songs have been recorded professionally because of the incredible effect the music was having on student performance and attitude in Tim's classroom. The magic was too powerful to keep a secret. Students love these songs and use them to improve academic performance. This CD makes your classroom come alive!

Read the user reviews below...comments by teachers, parents and even students.

Singin' the Standards is also available as a fundraiser, a perfect fund raising choice. Just think...your organization makes money while your students learn academic standards. Now all your students can listen to the CD at home while they go to sleep at night. That's some GOOD brainwashing!

WOW! What a valuable resource for engaging students in learning!
Reviewer: Terri Stahlheber
I feel so fortunate to have had Singin' the Standards referred to me. I know that it is going to help my students remember some of those tougher standards. I introduced the Parts of Speech song on the first day of school. My third graders were very eager to sing along. On the back of my weekly newsletter, I printed the lyrics so that they can sing the song at home with their families. Ü Tomorrow, we'll sing the song many more times. Next week, we're going to learn and sing about the 4 kinds of sentences. I'm sure that song will be a hit too. I know this CD is going to be one of the best purchases I've made in my 19 years of teaching. Thanks, Tim!!!!! Ü Terri

I have only had this CD for about two weeks and have already integrated three songs into my lessons. It is perfect for third graders. They especially love the quadrilateral song.

This CD is really catchy and fun for the students. I've only had it two weeks, but we've already used the Synonyms, Antonyms, and Homonyms and some of the times tables. I've shared it with colleagues and copied the lyrics for my students. What a great tool to help kids remember the standards in an enjoyable way!

My 3rd graders love Singin' the Standards! They really enjoy the various beats and songs. When we took a test recently I could actually hear some of them sing some of the songs under their breath to help them remember various concepts. Thanks for making teaching so much fun!

By using this CD to accompany my classroom instruction, my students were able to retain much more information than students in my previous 20 years of teaching. I plan to make it a regular part of my daily instruction.

Reviewer: jomark (3rd grade "English Language Learner" in Mr. Bedley's class)
these cd is the best cd that i ever hear

A great way to incorporate music in the classroom
Reviewer: Heather Goble
With all the pressures of state testing, teachers have to focus so much on academics that there seems to be no time for fun. This CD is a great way to teach students and have fun at the same time. Singing is an excellent memorization tool, and the students don't even realize they're exercising their brains. Using this CD is the perfect way to reinforce concepts, liven up a boring school day, and show students that learning can be enjoyable.

These Songs Make Your Brain Grow!
Reviewer: Tymerie Vincelli

I'm in Mr. Bedley's class and I sing these songs to make me learn more. I like sharing these songs with other children so they can learn more and it makes me happy to hear other kids in other classes sing Mr. Bedley's songs. My most favorite song is the writers song and it sounds right to me. These songs are really good for our brains.

WHAT AN AMAZING TOOL THAT WORKS IN TEACHING CHILDREN!
Reviewer: Sheila Cervantes
My child has had a lot of difficulty learning. She has had wonderful Teachers every year, but still she has struggled. We have listened to this CD and learned all these songs. And for the first time my daughter is getting good grades without struggling. Now she is having fun learning. She understands perpendicular, quadrilateral, antonyms, homonyms, equilateral, etc., as a result of listening regularly to this CD. She has great confidence now and enjoys teaching these songs to other children. Thank you for this amazing tool. P.S. I catch myself singing these songs when the kids are not around. I'm not quite sure I like that.:)

Fun music!- Great learning tool!
